Operation Rebound provides post-rehabilitation support and mentoring to American soldiers and veterans who have suffered permanent physical injuries as a result of the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. This program will provide the next step in their recovery once they have mastered "the basics" needed to return to an active lifestyle.
Our forums offer a place for injured veterans to discuss their issues in a private, secure environment. While some of the discussions are open to the public, many are available by membership only. Some are accessible only through private inviation.
FAQs
Q: Who Can Join The Discussion Boards?
A: Anyone can join the conversation. All you have to do is join by filling out few simple questions. You'll immediately be sent a confirmation email. Follow the instructions, and you'll be ready to join in.
Q: Will My Information Be Kept Private?
A: Most of the information you enter when joining is viewable in your profile section. Your email address is displayed there, although we have made attempts to keep your email address invisible to spam bots. We do not display your real name, although that is viewable by moderators and administrators.
Q: Who are the other members?
A: That's hard to say. In the interest of privacy, we've chosen to not to allow public access to many details that would tell you the identity of the poster.
Q: What happens if I lose my password?
A: You can easily have a new password sent to you via email, just go to the lost password page and request a new password.
Q: I've Changed My Email Address. What Now?
A: Just notify us that you've changed your email by going to the change of email page and request a new password.
Q: Who Is the Site Moderator?
A: Moderators of each discussion topic can be found on the topic's page. You can view the moderator's profile by clicking on his/her/their name.
Q: What can I say on the boards?
A: Anything you'd like....within reason. We will delete entries that are offensive to community members. Some words are not allowed in the discussions, especially 'spam' words that are not relevant to the discussions.
Obviously, personal attacks are frowned upon (although not discouraged if done in a witty, urbane way.) And in most cases, profanity will be filtered automatically before the post is published.
Without question, racially or sexually sensitive material will be nuked immediately. Any offenders will be warned and/or banned from posting at my sole discretion. When that happens, you'll know right away because you won't be able to post anymore.
Q: I'm offended! What can I do?
A: Contact the moderator, and let them know. Offensive material will be reviewed and actions taken on a case-by-case basis.
Q: I want to start a new discussion...what now?
A: First, make sure your topic isn't already handled by one of the existing topics. Next, use the new topic page to suggest a new topic you'd like to talk about. After submitting the topic, the moderator will approve or decline your topic. In most cases, you'll be notified on what happened.
Q: I want to start a topic that doesn't seem to fit in any of the existing categories. What should I do?
A: First, fill out the information on the new topic page. If the subject is so radical that it doesn't fit the existing categories, maybe the moderator will create a new subject. Otherwise, contact Mark directly and maybe he'll do something.
Q: This board doesn't look like other boards...what's up with that?
A: This board tries to bridge the gap between technicall challenging and overly simplistic bulletin board systems. Please contact the site administrator if you notice any errors. We will try to fix them immediately.
